When differentiating, stretch and rigor needs to be considered. It's not enough to simply add more work for the high ability or limit work for the lower ability.

Karen, I truly enjoy reading this blog and I hope to return to more insightful ideas and resources. I carry a technology endorsement on my current license and am always on the look out for new and exciting ways to engage students.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02053779533990637398noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13975155.post-3122409221581241892008-09-15T10:13:00.000-05:002008-09-15T10:13:00.000-05:00Yes, teaching has taken a different face now with ...Yes, teaching has taken a different face now with more practical approaches. As we move into support for ALL learners with these tools - not just the special education and life skills classrooms, we face the challenge of getting administrators and key teachers to catch the vision and run with it. I am working hard to get buy in from both upper end administration and the classroom level as well. When the two are aware of the tools and each other as they are used, we can strike a match and light the fire.
Thanks KarenLonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11567344790169106284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13975155.post-8349705506270706052008-09-09T17:16:00.000-05:002008-09-09T17:16:00.000-05:00You've put it very well, Karen. The ongoing challenge is to ensure that the tools are indeed available to all learners. Your blog, with posts like this one and with its regular reference to effective tools, is helping to meet that challenge. --PaulPaul Hamiltonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01594007631592685010noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13975155.post-46188725404557459762008-09-09T10:58:00.000-05:002008-09-09T10:58:00.000-05:00Karen,This is the type of blog post that should no...Karen,

This is the type of blog post that should not be read by those of us in the edublogosphere all by ourselves. This is the post that should be handed out or projected at faculty meetings, and discussed at when curriculum is written. Instead of TTWWADI, we can focus on what lies ahead.

I am going to share this with my staff through our Google Groups. Thanks for writing in a language that every educator can relate to.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08156784418545421424noreply@blogger.com
