YouTube Treasures

Did you know there are videos uploaded to YouTube of classic children's stories? Thanks to my friend, Sam Sennott, I learned about these additional YouTube treasures! It's best to watch them full screen.

TikkiTikkiTembo

Leo The Late Bloomer

ChickaChicka BoomBoom (very catchy song!)

Here are some more to get you started.

Another reason to love YouTube.

I wish YouTube wasn't blocked at my work. Any way to put these videos somewhere else for viewing?

Thanks,

Kim,

You can convert them at home using zamzar and show them to your students at school. Zamzar is very easy to use.
Also, is TeacherTube blocked? There may be some good videos for your students at that site.

Some of these seem to be from Discovery Education, so if your school has a subscription you can run it from there. There are tons of fantastic videos from Discovery Education http://www.discoveryeducation.com/ and with a subscription you can also download the videos to use in other applications (PPT, Intellitools Classroom Suite, etc). You can go to the website for a free 30 day trial!

Beth,

Thanks for sharing about Discovery Education - are there videos of children's books available through this service?
I used up my free 30 day trial so I can't explore it further but it is a good tip for those whose schools have a subscription to DEN.
