Being Different

Just came across this video on TeacherTube, an educational version that's like YouTube, only better. It's called "Being Different is a Solution, Not a Problem." It was produced as a PSA by a class of fifth graders for their local PBS station in Reno, Nevada.
Now, through the power of the Web2.0, you and I are able to view it.

Karen,

Thanks for the link! I was so happy to discover Teacher Tube this weekend. I'm not sure if I was late to discover it, or if like many of the bloggers I read, I just happend to stumble upon it at around the same time. My biggest concern right now is that I will get to work tomorrow and find that my school district has blocked it. Teacher Tube seems to be an ideal, safe environment for students (and teachers) to publish video content and provide an authentic audience. Keep up the good work!

Brian,
Thanks for stopping by! Were you able to access this site at school? It does seem like an excellent alternative for teachers. And we love free!

Karen,

Thanks for joining the TeacherTube community and embedding this inspiring video here. As fellow educators, we hope to make a site that is truly focused on teaching and learning and is safe and school friendly. The evolution of the site depends upon the vision of the community members. Please continue to post videos, but also try the comments and message features for collegial discussion, and consider using the ratings system to show appreciation for videos. We sincerely want user input, so let us know what you think could make the site better for teaching and learning.

Karen,

Not only was I able to acccess the site, I was assured by the person in charge of our filtering system that TeacherTube will remain unblocked. All in all it was a pretty good Monday.
